Dear beloved family members and friends,
Hi, and a belated happy new year to all. First of all, wishing you all a happy, healthy and prosperous year!
The reason i'm writing this to you all is to inform you regarding some changes that I'm trying to practice this year. I realise that in the past, i have been a wasteful person, not cherishing what i have. Being a student, I have been wasteful especially in terms of usage of PAPERS (which means more trees are cut down). I feel that it is time that i change my attitude, and there is much more that i could do on my part to contribute a little in saving the resources as well as saving our environment. Here are among some practices that i'm trying to cultivate:
1. I'm not sending birthday cards, chinese new year cards o other related festive greeting cards, and these will be replaced by either sms or e-cards o hand made cards from recycled resources.
2. I'm also tying to cut down the use of gift wrapping papers, meaning if u receive a gift from me, it will be in it's original look, or is wrapped from recycled present papers.
3. I'll use recycled envelopes to post letters whenever possible.
4. Gifts from friends that I myself do not need , i'll share them with others who need them.
5. I'm cutting down the use of paper, so i'll use both sides of papers whenever possible.
6. I'm cutting down the use of plastic bags, polyester material, non-degradable and non-environment friendly items.
I hope you could understand the reasons of me in doing so, and I'll appreciate it if you could practice them too whenever possible eg. instead of sending me cards, send me ecard or sms. And a gift that is not wrapped up in present papers is very much cherished. If you are not sure what to buy me for gifts, ask me ahead what i need or just send me your greetings. And in your daily life, whenever possible, save water, save electricity, save energy. Choose environment-friendly items. Love yourself, love our earth.
Regards,
Lulu
