Second year PhD

This morning I checked my email inbox and came across a letter that reads:

Dear XXXX,
I came across an article published in XXXX journal in 2006 on the involvement of xxxxx in xxxx cancer. I am not sure whether you have this paper, but I have attached it for your reference.
This gave me both thoughts and concerns on our work. Firstly, what we have found of xxxxx in xxxxx is very relevant, interesting and worth publishing (even with the quality of the data in its present form). Secondly, hopefully ...................... Of course, ................. but right now, even to ............. So, with this, I hope you are both encouraged and alerted to the impending need for publishing your results..................... I must apologize for putting such pressure on you. However,....................... It is worth to be reminded that publication pressure is relevant in a PhD pursuit, and should be taken as a positive drive.
Let me know .................... Best regards, and hope to get your feedback.

Regards,
Assoc. Prof. Dr. XXXXX

My boss is 'suggesting' me to try to publish. This reminds me that 15 months have passed and my clock is ticking. Come to realise, no wonder Grace, our lab's master student is a little grumpy lately. She needs to complete her work the latest early next year. We are truly racing against time.
