It's the 7th month in my braces life and I'm experiencing slight problem with my gums. One thing the gum surrounding my upper canines keep bleeding now and then. Not that it is painful but it sometimes causes this 'salty' taste in my mouth. Secondly, plaque and tartar are forming around my teeth causing my gum to be swollen and unhealthy. I have been very careful in maintaining oral hygiene but still it's unavoidable. According to ZP, this could happen because my teeth are smaller in size (compare to normal adult teeth) and I'm wearing the porcelain type brackets, which are bigger in size, creating space for 'food storage'. He recommended I use another high in fluoride toothpaste since Sensxdxxe toothpaste has not helped me much. I think I also have to cut down eating junk food (Twisties), ice-cream, chocs etc to prevent acidic environment in my oral cavity that encourage plaque formation.
This is my new toothpaste (imported). I think it looks more like a fireworks tube or hair mousse spray rather than a toothpaste tube. Don't you think so?
