Despite the difficulties of trying to select only a few pictures out of those many that I've taken, and also trying to recall interesting events that had happened, I'm presenting you this as I promised. (Nana, now I can understand your feeling when I pestered you to blog about your conference trips!)
Before I start kicking the story off, I would like to say a few words to thank some people. First of all, to my labmate Chia, for informing me about the training programme (if not, i wouldn't even know about it not to mention applying and getting it). Secondly, to the organising committee, for sponsoring my travel, accommodation, tour etc, and most of all for selecting me and giving me the opportunity to get myself 'trained' and exposed to state-of-the-art research techniques. I would also like to thank Ung Ing, for borrowing me his maps and books so that I could plan for my trip in Taipei. Thanks to mum for buying me the blazer and trousers (which costs quite some money). And last but not least, to HG who financed my accommodation in Taipei for 2 nights.
Ok, I went to Taiwan on 14th June and came back on 29th. I was there to attend the 2009 IFCB International Training Program in Cell and Molecular Biology. The training took place at NHRI, in Zhunan of Miaoli county. NHRI was established in 1996. They relocated to this permanent campus in Zhunan in 2004. The buildings are new, research labs are big and well-equipped. They have a library that sells great coffee. The campus is surrounded by greenery. One could hear cicadas' and birds' singing all the time.
During the training period, we had lectures in the morning and lab work in the afternoon till night. For the first week, class started at 8.30 am and almost always ended at 9pm. We had our lunch and dinner in the NHRI canteen everyday. On the second week, we get to visit a few higher research institutions in Taipei. The organising committee was even generous enough to arrange a tour for us to Tainan and Kaoshiung over the weekend between the 2 training weeks. After the training, I stayed back in Taipei for 2 days to tour around a bit. So basically, that's about it. (Stay tuned for more interesting entries.)

Just want to say that u are very brave as my only oversea travelling alone was to US. But was pick up by my Uncle. I went to Manhanttan, NY and Boston, but was with Sheila.
Looking forward for your part 2, 3 ...
Ung Ing: Actually when I arrived in TaoYuan airport, the organiser was there to pick me up. The rest of the trip was always with somebody else. Well, maybe my first day in Taipei I'm travelling alone for a while.
