I went to Malacca few years back during my undergrad time (with Nana, and met Ung Ing in a theme park). Time really flies. Ung ing has now registered with the daddy club and Nana becomes Mrs Chiew. It actually feels great to be able to revisit Malacca, after UNESCO declares it as world cultural heritage. The visit is a memorable one because I went with my family and we kinda 'backpack' a bit.

We went to Zonker streets the evening we arrived (only open on weekends). Too bad it was raining thunderstorm while we were taking our time hunting for food. So, ended up having satay celup in a shophouse of nearby roadside. I went to the Baba and Nyonya museum too but we were not allowed to take any photo, so sorry guys.
On overall, I think Malacca hasn't changed much since my last visit except that I'm a little concern that if those historical sites are not preserved and maintained properly, we'll lost them one day. And I do feel that some places are slowly becoming a little 'too commercialised' and it's really a sad thing to let this happen. Maybe these are the consequences of development...

I was thinking of re-vising my memories there some day in future. I ll try the baba guesthouse. Look nice to me. By the way, u went to the right place for the hainan chicken rice. To me, that one served the best :)
yeah. we asked local Malacca people which one is nice. haha. if u thinking of going back, do so asap. because we don't know what will happen in years to come after 'the world heritage' thing. looks like it's becoming an earning tool rather than preserving.
hey xiangru, about the Baba house rite? hw much is the accomodation for a nite? i might b goin nex year in january o.. hehee
yin: depending on the room type that you are taking. we rented 2 double room, if not mistaken is about hundred plus per night for each. u can go check the room rate on their web. there's a link from my post. btw, they are pretty strict with the number of people staying in each room. tat's y we ended up renting 2 rooms instead of one for the whole family.
ooo..~~ okay, thx for the info ya... ^^
