If you look at their Ala carte' menu, you'll see that they have varieties but not many choices of each variety. For example, if it's chicken you can only have chicken done this way. But I think they go for quality rather than quantity. On overall, nice place with good ambience and food (especially meat).

Carvery
I couldn't recall when was my last visit to Carvery. If my memory is correct, I went with Cat and Nana. It's Cat who first introduced this place to me too. Carvery is famous for its buffet but within that few times I visited here, I never once tried their buffet. Well, I'm not really a meat lover anyway.
This time I went here with HG to celebrate his 30++th birthday.
For starter, we ordered garlic bread. Quite crispy and crunchy, smells of nice garlic too. (Except for a bit salty according to HG)
The mushroom soup comes as complementary. I love it cause it's just nice, not too creamy and or too diluted. But it must be drank while warm.
HG had this for main. Initially he ordered Carvery lamb chop but the waitress said something like 'not marinated and biasa' etc and we weren't paying attention and it turned out to be this. I guessed they didn't serve Carvery lamb chop that day. Anyway, these ordinary lamb chops were grilled nicely (and price is cheaper too). I had a small bite and it smells of nice charcoal. One thing best about Carvery is that they serve the salad dressing and gravy separately. For people like HG who dislike mayonnaise, cheese, milk or dairy product, it really save them a lot of problem. (Although I can't figure out how possibly could people not like those yummy stuffs.)
I ordered Chicken Cordon Bleu. It's crumbed skinless chicken meat with turkey ham and cheddar cheese stuffed inside, served with tomato coulis, french fries (or you could ask for mashed potato like I did) and coleslaw. Well, for me, if they could serve more tomato coulis to go with the chicken, and perhaps some gravy for my mashed potato, then everything will be very perfect!
If you look at their Ala carte' menu, you'll see that they have varieties but not many choices of each variety. For example, if it's chicken you can only have chicken done this way. But I think they go for quality rather than quantity. On overall, nice place with good ambience and food (especially meat).
