My boss previously told me I'll have to work at least more than 3 years to get my PhD done. I anticipate it will drag on maybe up to 4 years time. But this morning I received news that we didn't manage to secure any grant for this year. So, I guess both of us have to find alternatives or else I'll just have to finish as soon as possible with the resources that I'm left with.
When I had lunch with Wen Ni just few hours ago, she jokingly said that she would just like to get married away and left those worrying work behind. It's sadly true as the research environment is getting more and more discouraging (maybe same goes for the political environment too). I don't wanna get too carried away with these frustrations anymore. I'll just focus on what I can do, get my benchwork done so that I can start writing my thesis to get that permanent head damage recognition soon. Time means MONEY now!
