New Japanese Restaurant in town

After my last disappointing visit to Ten- Ichi with Cat and Nana just before my wedding, and the lousy Sushi I had in one of Shen Zhen's Ramen Restaurant, I did not have any Japanese food in weeks. I'm craving for nice sushi but did not take action partly because Japanese food is quite expensive and we had tight budget after wedding+honeymoon. But yesterday HG treated me and my in-laws Japanese lunch at a new Jap restaurant in town, Kensaku. It's situated at the corner shoplot of Brighton Square of Jalan Song, just 2 or 3 shops next to Ipoh Town Cafe. The restaurant can easily been spotted from the road side due to its signboard that looks like Japanese flag--->

Exterior design of the restaurant
The sushi bar

The interior not too big but quite clean and organised.
So, what about the food? We had these:
Unagi Sushi @RM8
California Maki @RM12. For the above 2 sushi items, we received 15% discount as the restaurant is having promotion for sushi at the moment.
Avocado Handroll @ RM8
Chicken ramen @ RM12
Tempura soba @RM15
A prawn plus some vege
Unatama Don @RM 12
Tonpei Yaki @RM10

I tried the Unagi Sushi, California Maki and Tempura Soba. Personally I think the sushi tastes good. The rice is not too dried and the vinegar tastes just nice. I love the texture of the soba too. Price-wise, I think it's of average except the portion might be a bit small for guys but just nice for us ladies. I'll definitely be back again!
