HG celebrated his 31st birthday last week (getting older liao). We had the dinner at Magenta. The last time Lulu went there was 2-3 years ago, with yy, labmates and friends from Uni. The meal was great, nice ambience, too bad there were a lot of people around that night. But good for Magenta, meaning their business is really good. Haha.Since a lot of people have been blogging about how good Magenta is, needless for me to do so here. So, I'm just sharing what we had for dinner that night.
For apetizer...
The ceaser salad, with bacon and eggs, and lots of vegeLulu's choice-mango salmon
sweet and sour also spicy taste of the mango sauce, Thai style way of cooking, the salmon was grilled nicely, not very 'raw'. the deco itself is a piece od nice art. Lulu loved the mashed potato!HG's order-lamb shank
HG just love the lamb shank from the Junk, so he ordered it here also to compare Magenta's lamb shank with the Junk's. Firstly, the deco is different. Secondly, the sauce or gravy used taste slightly different. The Junk's is sweet sour taste with pieces of pumpkin, here is salty sweet kind of taste. Both serve big portion and the pricing is almost the same.For desert, we had this triple chocholate cake as complementary from Magenta for the birthday boy! Not too cheesy. Just nice.
Anyway, I'm definitely coming back to both places again. The food tastes lovely. I've tried pasta from the Junk, surely want to try it out at Magenta (for the reason of comparison, since I'm a scientist). Hehe.
