A night of Ballet

Lulu went to a charity performance by LayNa Ballet Academy on the 23rd. The performance was entitled 'Message of love', and was in aid of fund raising for the Sarawak kidney assocaition, AIDs concern society, and also Society for the prevention of cruelty to animal.

It was an enjoyable night although Lulu isn't a ballet person. (Lulu loves dancing but she does Chinese Oriental dance in particular.) The academy performed various style of ballet dances, from classical 'swan lake' to Jazz 'footloose', from graceful dances by the seniors to funny cute dances by the beginners. All dance music pieces used were either from Disney's classics or of western culture. It was indeed a night of graceful dance accompanied by nice melody. The only drawback is that the auditorium was not cold enough, I had to fan myself using the programme booklet. And too bad my camera went flat, so I couldn't take nice shots from the performance. This is one or two that I managed to capture from the swan lake (but too bad the quality isn't good but might be able to give you a peek):

To know a little more:

Ballet is an academic dance form and technique that is taught in ballet schools according to specific methods. There are many ballet schools around the world that specialize in various styles of ballet and different techniques offered. Works of dance choreographed using this technique are called ballets, and usually include dance, mime, acting, and music (usually orchestral but occasionally vocal). Ballet is best known for its unique features and techniques, such as pointe work, turn-out of the legs; its graceful, flowing, precise movements; and its ethereal qualities.( from Wikipedia)
