$$ issue

Besides permanent head damage, i found a new term for PhD--- poor, hectic and demented. (At least in my case, or in Nana's case too?)

Besides doing my research on cancer, I'm also currently engaged in an important research on 'How to cut down expenses and at the same time increase income in Lulu's daily life?'

So, how does the research question arise? Well, you see, my RA pay will end this December. And application for scholarship will take 2-3 months to process before the money comes in earliest end of April next year. Meaning I'm to survive on my own savings (which means very pitifully little) for a couple of months. I can still manage if I only need to cover my basic expenses for several months. But the thing is I also have to
1. pay for my first sem tuition fees (about 2K)
2. a lot of my friends are throwing me red bombs (why are they all getting married at almost the same time?)
3. a lot of birthdays to celebrate (why aren't they born at other time of the year?)
4. my handset is getting 'sick', soon will reach its end of journey. mean i need to get a new one, means more $$$
and most of the 'money-spending' festivals are within these few months etc etc....

So, i guess i have to
1. start buying Toto or 4D! (increase income)
2. besides reading about my research work, I probably might want to consider taking finance management subjects... Haha!
3. start learning how to eat grass (cut expenses)
4. stay at home everyday, do not answer phone calls, do not reply emails, so that people can't reach me (cut expenses) (-_-;)

Anyway, it's just a mad grad student like me grumbling out of nothing in her daily life. However, if any of you think that doing a PhD will earn you more money in future, then i'll tell you that you have to endure having not enough money NOW, and maybe also in FUTURE! So, if you are considering taking PhD study with the aim of $$$, then drop the thoughts! Because you're in the wrong line, Sir. But if you are talking about passion, discovering new things, then welcome to the 'poor, hectic and demented' line! hehe.

p/s: Nana, I might need to keep that $$ book you lend me a little longer.
