I was auditting Advanced Molecular Biology class today. We were discussing about PCR and some of the basic techniques in molecular biology. The lecturer, Dr K. , was explaining and showing us how the PCR machine has evolved, and also how conventional DNA sequencing is done and how it is improved to be the automated sequencing used nowadays. I had this feeling of 'grateful' during the lecture. We human sometimes do take things foregranted, don't we? We do not appreciate those easy things that come to us. Seriously, without the PCR machine, I can't imagine myself doing cloning just to amplify a gene, not to mention many many genes. And all the laborious work that I have to do in order to get the sequence of the desired DNA fragment! Phew... Thanks to all those who have invented things that make our life a lot easier.
